Our DNA
Over 25 years in the dance community has taught me many valuable life lessons. I know what it is to be passionate about an art form, and appreciate what it takes to cultivate and grow a love that transcends higher than just the act of dancing. Artistry Dance & Co is one my greatest accomplishments, and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to share my love, experience and knowledge with dancers that desire the same values. Artistry Dance & Co has instilled these core values as our DNA. This is the life and soul of who we are, and these values will always remain the foundation of this company.
1. Authenticity
Authenticity is defined as representing one’s true nature or beliefs; being true to one’s self. Artistry Dance & Co encourages its students to be true to one’s self. Understanding one’s strengths, desires and goals is just as important as understanding weakness and imperfections. When being authentic there will always be critics and outside negative opinions. Because of this, being courageous enough to be one’s self is one of the most valuable lessons Artistry Dance & Co will teach its students.
2. Teamwork
Dance is not an individual sport. At Artistry Dance & Co it does not matter if you are performing a solo or a production number you depend on your team to lift you up. You depend on your team to set the standard. You depend on your team to push you to be your best. You depend on your team to achieve common goals. You depend on your team for honesty and your team depends on you.
3. Balance
To be balanced means Artistry Dance & Co encourages equal focus on the following: family, friends, school, social life, physical health, spirituality and dance. Koi Fresco once said “Balance is the key to everything. What we do, think, say, eat, feel; they all require awareness and through this awareness we all can grow.” At Artistry Dance & Co we feel our dancers perform better when their feelings, thoughts, goals, emotions and values are balanced.
4. Positivity
Hard work, determination, and ambition are all personality traits required to be an Artistry dancer. Artistry Dance & Co possesses the power to develop positivity within ourselves, and in the process contribute positivity to the team. Artistry Dance & Co understands that positivity is a muscle and the more we strengthen the muscle the more resilient we become.There is a power in positivity.
5. Excellence
Excellence is a continuous pursuance that is never achieved but through integrity, courage and continuous learning allows you to strive to be better. At Artistry Dance & Co excellence is not being the best, it is doing your best.
I am thankful to all of the Artistry Dance & Co dancers and families that have had the courage and confidence to join on this journey. The past has created our values, the present is the belief of who we are, and the future is ours to create. Thank you for allowing me to share my heart and passion with your kids day in and day out. I value this opportunity more than I could ever express.
